Nickelodeon Speelboek

“Sure this is just a prototype?”

Together with some colleagues from Soda Studio we designed a concept for Nickelodeon called Nickelodeon speelboek. The idea was to design a child's first digital toy catalogue. Because this was a concept pitch my main focus was delivering the best prototype possible. Including sounds, animations, transition and mini games.

My role

What I did

  • Prototyping

  • Concepting

  • User Experience Design

At the start of this project the team and I took part in a mini design sprint to create a general concept. When the foundation was thereI I was fully dedicated to creating the final prototype in Principle. A big challenge knowing the team was designing the app simultaneously. By creating the prototype at this early stage we've managed to deliver an experience that was close to a fully working app.

Explore, get inspired and like your favourite products on this child’s first digital wishlist. Browse through pages full of personalised content based on your heroes, interests, age group and app behaviour.

No price tags, long toy manuals or product details, just a child friendly wishlist generator.

Inspired by your heroes

Kids can add their favourite Nickelodeon heroes and will see all the products their heroes love. Not only basic product images but also video’s and GIF’s inspire the kids to add their favourite toys to their wishlist.

Little things make a big difference

To add some playfulness in the prototype I created some minigames and easter eggs throughout the prototype. Tapping on Garry the snail will make him meow (because that’s what they do in SpongeBob’s world) and you can pop all the bubbles. Not only kids will love this, also the stakeholders couldn’t stop popping these bubbles.
